Durham TRY – YOUTH POWER

Pinnacle CDC is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization founded in 2000 by Earl and Wanda Boone. The Mission of Pinnacle CDC is to bring organizations and communities together to meet the needs of at-risk youth and their families. Earl and Wanda Boone are not new to working with at-risk youth and families. They have mentored at-risk youth since 1974.

In addition to their work with youth and families, they bring a wealth of administrative experience to Pinnacle. Wanda worked as the Executive Director of Quality Assurance, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs for 19 years, providing oversight for 4 Business Divisions, 8 laboratories and over 4,000 clinics. She was appointed by the President of the US to serve on two Federal planning committees in Washington, DC. Earl worked for 20 years as an educator, winning Teacher of the Year for two years.

Wanda has invaluable ties to the Durham community as Chair of the Best Practices and Faith-based Workgroups for the Durham County Collaborative, Chair of the Substance Abuse Committee, People’s Clearinghouse and Partnership for a Healthy Durham. Task Force, of Drug Free Community coalitions from around the State.
