TALLAHASSEE FALL 2007 SUMMIT PRESS INTERVIEWS

Friday, December 21st, 2008

TITUSVILLE, FLA – The Office of A.T. Karberg Winik and Titusville City Attorney Dwight Severs sat down for interviews with WESH 2 News' Dan Billow on Wednesday and FOX 35 Orlando's Cheryl Getuiza on Thursday concerning this week's Tallahassee Fall 2007 Summit that was held in Tallahassee Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Tyler Winik shared that the Governor's staff was optimistic as to the passability of the underage drinking proposals proposed by the City of Titusville and supported by the Office, and said that a lot of hard work has already gotten the delegation to this point, and that until there is change, the work will continue.

Getuiza asked Winik if he thought the bills would change the mind set of teens who are set on obtaining alcohol. I hope that they will say 'hey, I don't want my parent, friend, or store clerk to be in jail for up to a year - no way!,' said Winik.

WESH 2 News' Dan Billow asked Winik if he thought the Governor's office would give a firm commitment of support to these proposals once they are filed as bills. Winik responded by saying that we have a great feeling when working with the Governor's staff, and have made some good friends there. We're confident our bills have a better chance at passage this year because of the amount of support they have received and will receive.
